Driving to Bulgaria from the United Kingdom.

The journey to Bulgaria - when we decided we wanted to live there permanently - involved driving from Wales through England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Hungary, - and against all advice through Serbia - eventually entering Bulgaria mid July. As we were towing a fully laden caravan we weren't travelling at very high speeds, and the journey took us almost five days. The journey was tiresome, but it was also a journey one might only undertake once in a lifetime, so for that reason we would not have had it any other way.

Where it was possible - i.e. not raining or dark - I took photographs from the moving car. I will display the photographs on the pages linked to the names above, and tell you of any particular requirements for the relative country e.g. vignettes. We saw many picturesque villages, rivers and mountains, and encountered several corrupt officials en route that I paid off by bribes to allow us to continue.
