After our trip to Sozopol, we decided our trip to the coast would not be complete without a visit to Sunny Beach, which is in the region of Burgas (Bourgas).

We travelled into the town of Nessebar, and after a visit there, we got on a mobile train that then transported us to Sunny Beach. When we arrived, the weather was wonderful, but after about two hours on the beach - as can so often happen in Bulgaria - it started raining. No sooner had it started than it stopped, and all was sunshine once again.

On the beach was a large outside cafe, restaurant and bar, covered by enormous umbrellas - just as well, as it rained later. We had a couple of cold drinks and a meal, spoke to a couple of Brits, who lived full time in Bulgaria - and it was reassuring to hear that they loved the place, particularly as we were looking for a property to buy ourselves.
